Thursday-Saturday.
I get to visit my family in Dallas – yay. But it’s because my sister and brother-in-law are moving up north – boo. I’m stoked about the change of scenery for a little while. I love home (now San Antonio). But there’s something about being in a different place for a few days that gets [...]

God’s Humor

26Jan09

I had a hard year in 2006.
2007 was harder. It’s difficult to process a hard year.
2008 was hard but healthy.
2009 will be an adventure to put everything into perspective.
Regarding 2006-2007, it’s so funny that the Baptists are the ones who set this Pentecostal boy straight.
Just thinking about where God has brought me the past 24 [...]

Untitled

20Jan09

I’m tired. Don’t know what to write. It’s been a crazy week couple of months.
I wish I wrote this about Obama.
I saw Phil Wickham last night. It was great.

Home

26Dec08

Last night we came home from a 24 hour Christmas trip to see my family in Dallas.
I’m facinated by that feeling of when you get “home”. I can’t describe it, but is worth noting.
I also came to the conclusion that I frequently come to: I love San Antonio.

But I am an American. Here’s some things I believe.
I believe:

donkeys and elephants are sycophants
we need drastic change
drastic change doesn’t come by electing empty promises
America will elect whoever promises THEM the most
neither candidates are leaders
the majority of politicians don’t have America’s best interest at heart, if you define “America” as “We The People”
journalism is dead. Most of [...]

31

24Oct08

I posted here about how I needed to get a handle on my email. I recently had accumulated 4,136 meaningful emails that I kept in my inbox for “later reference”.
I finally got it down to 31 really important emails.
You may be asking how I filtered through all those emails so quickly. It’s easy: I just [...]

The Link

16Oct08

I think someone has a crush on me. My new dog follows me everywhere, and even takes naps while I work.

Resolutions

07Oct08

My New Year’s Resolution was simple this year: become a better manager of my time. Here are some of the things I’ve done to help accomplish that:

wake up earlier (but not early!)
spend time with God immediately after my shower, not delaying it until night time
using email and the phone strategically, which means closing my email at certain times of the day
utilizing [...]

Yes. I can’t believe we’ve been back for 8 days already. We had so much fun and it was refreshing. You know why I hate vacations? They always end.

Smoke Screen

23Sep08

I’m guilty of creating smoke screens. My brain thinks in analytics. I analyze everything and everyone. Criticizing others comes very easy for me. As a freelance designer, I’ve spent countless hours studying advertising campaigns, brands, and marketing techniques. I’m always studying the competition, picking out where they messed up, and then capitalizing on it, so some capitalist that hired me can make [...]
