I’m Not
You are never as great as you think you are, so don’t become prideful. And you are never as bad as you think you are, so don’t become crippled by insecurity. Simply give your best and be thankful that God has given you the opportunity to be a part of His great plan.
Thanks Kent.

Everybody is annoyed by the “know-it-all”. This person has a dogmatic opinion about everything. Oh, they KNOW how the world spins surely, and even worse, they have a running mouth! The know-it-all is usually against anything new, resents discipline, and refuses to be a learner.
Soloman, the wisest man who ever lived (next to Jesus of course), calls [...]

productive or not?
Today was crazy. I’m not even sure what I did. But it was crazy. And by the looks of it, my clean desk was utilized heavily today.

More. I want more. A higher status. A better reputation. More significance. More respect. More authority. More recognition. More money.
History tells us that when we don’t get what we want, we will fight to get it.
When we hear “no”, we don’t back down. The opposite happens. We gear up and fight.
In the church world, this [...]

our God reigns
I’ve really been disappointed with my prayer times lately. Every now and then I’ll have times where I just can’t seem to get through, and if I’m honest (like you’d expect that from me), I’ll begin to feel like I’m wasting time.
This morning I was just meditating on the simple fact that our God reigns. He’s a [...]

When I was a little school boy (oh so cute), I used to think “I can’t wait for the day when I don’t have to learn anymore.” I really didn’t like school. Sometimes it was fun, but mostly, it was boring. I was never encouraged to draw outside the lines. My handwriting was never acceptable. [...]

Child Hating Disney Employees
There are many people who call themselves a Christ Follower, but if you look at their conduct, it seems they’re more an enemy of Christ, not a follower.
With the pressures, trends, and social climate around us, it’s very easy to become a self indulgent Christian.
Self Indulgent Christian. Is there such one? It’s like saying “Illiterate [...]

I taught about Godly dating on Sunday. I was worried that people who were already married might feel left out.
Just got an email from someone who’s already married, saying they’ve been thinking about it all week long.
I guess the Word of God will do that – hit home regardless of the framing and context.
Sweet.

A Few Things I’m Excited About
Thursday-Saturday.
I get to visit my family in Dallas – yay. But it’s because my sister and brother-in-law are moving up north – boo. I’m stoked about the change of scenery for a little while. I love home (now San Antonio). But there’s something about being in a different place for a few days that gets [...]

God’s Humor
I had a hard year in 2006.
2007 was harder. It’s difficult to process a hard year.
2008 was hard but healthy.
2009 will be an adventure to put everything into perspective.
Regarding 2006-2007, it’s so funny that the Baptists are the ones who set this Pentecostal boy straight.
Just thinking about where God has brought me the past 24 [...]
