you haven’t arrived, stupid

09Mar09

When I was a little school boy (oh so cute), I used to think “I can’t wait for the day when I don’t have to learn anymore.” I really didn’t like school.  Sometimes it was fun, but mostly, it was boring. I was never encouraged to draw outside the lines. My handwriting was never acceptable. My attention was always wandering. I’m surprised they didn’t say I was ADD.

Clearly, the artist within me was getting frustrated. So I arrived at this conclusion: learning was unpleasant.

Now I realize that we’re all in a continuing education program. We have not arrived, nor will we ever.

Once you embrace this fact, life’s challenges become fun adventures, not inconvenient problems.

The process of life is a lifelong process. And if you quit growing, you stop living.

And to end with a Bill Hybel’s qoute from Axiom (in the que to read),

“Leaders have a responsibility before God to constantly get better, and one of the most reliable ways to do so is to read. Great leaders read frequently. They read voraciously.”

Read Colossians 2-3 regarding growing as Christ followers.
