Resolutions

07Oct08

My New Year’s Resolution was simple this year: become a better manager of my time. Here are some of the things I’ve done to help accomplish that:

  • wake up earlier (but not early!)
  • spend time with God immediately after my shower, not delaying it until night time
  • using email and the phone strategically, which means closing my email at certain times of the day
  • utilizing OmniFocus more
  • scheduling my time in 30 min blocks in iCal
  • planning out the next day before I leave my desk

I haven’t become a master, but I think I’ve improved my productivity around 35%. My goal for the rest of the year is to do another 20%. If I can be 55% more productive and efficient this year than I was last year – wow!

Here’s my end of year resolution:

  • get to 0 in my inbox

These are all the emails I have kept for some reason. I need to go through, copy any valuable info out, and delete them so my inbox is at zero. Wish me luck.

You think your Inbox is bad, try Inbox: 6422 # of e-mails in my work Inbox that I’ve read. Sent: 7956

    I don’t think I’ll ever make it to zero! : )
